A Local's Lifelong Love Affair with the Sea
Captain Chris is not just a resident of Stuart, Florida, but a true local, having lived there since he was just seven years old. He has spent most of his life on and around the water, and it was this love of the ocean that led him to pursue a degree in Marine Affairs and Ecosystem Science from the University of Miami.
After graduating, Chris began his career as a fishing guide and charter boat captain, and he has been doing this for the past 15 years. During this time, he has gained a wealth of experience and has established himself as a highly respected and sought-after captain. He runs over 150 fishing trips per year and specializes in sailfish, tarpon, snook, grouper, Mahi, and more.
Passion for Fishing
Chris’s passion for fishing and the ocean began at a young age. He spent his early years fishing in the Lower Matecumbe Keys, where he learned the ins and outs of the local waters. Later, he spent his summers chasing Bonefish in the Abacos, honing his skills and knowledge even further.
What sets Chris apart from other fishing guides and charter captains is his extensive knowledge of marine biology. He is not just a fisherman, but a trained marine biologist and scientist, and he brings this expertise to his work on the water. In addition to his guiding work, he also works part-time as a marine biologist at the Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center, where he shares his knowledge and passion with tourists and guests from all over the world.
Overall, Captain Chris is a true professional, a master of his craft, and an invaluable asset to the local fishing community and the wider world of marine biology.
